We direct seed fennel. It's a bit finicky when comes to transplanting.

What size flats (cells per flat) do you folks like to use to start fennel, cabbage, broccoli and kohlrabi in?

Those bags do look nice! G&M Ag Supply (www.gmagsupply.com) sells sand
bags for $13.20 per 50 (less than 27 cents each) and re-pins 300 for
$46.68. Minimum order: $50. The sand bags are good, but get heavy for
my crew once half-full of rock or sand--okay, they're heavy for me,
too. I will have to try some re-pins.
