It would appear this name was not just a feminine one:

Ex 1:15And the king of Egypt spake (8799) to the Hebrew midwives (8764) , of
which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:

kai eipen o basileuv twn Aiguptiwn taiv maiaiv twn Ebraiwn th mia autwn h
onoma Sepfwra kai to onoma thv deuterav Foua

Jud 10:1And after Abimelech there arose (8799) to defend (8687) Israel Tola
the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt (8802) in
Shamir in mount Ephraim.

kai anesth meta Abimelex tou swsai ton Israhl Qwla uiov Foua uiov
patradelfou autou anhr Issaxar kai autov katwkei en Samareia en orei Efraim

1Ch 7:1Now the sons of Issachar were, Tola, and Puah, Jashub, and Shimron,
four.

kai toiv uioiv Issaxar Qwla kai Foua kai Iasoub kai Semerwn tessarev

Then the Coptic Bible:

1:15 ouoh peje pouro nte niremn,/mi nnirefymecio nte nihebreoc vran noui
mmwou pe cepvwra ouoh vran n]mah?b²?] pe voua
