I did not actually say this, Ken Penner did, but I agree with him.

Not everyone is able to read and write older fonts, especially
non-transliterated Hebrew etc, which depend for their operation on tricking
the OS into displaying Hebrew characters for codes which it thinks are Latin
characters, or else graphics. Newer operating systems can't be tricked so
easily. So for example in recent versions of Internet Explorer the SP and
older SIL Hebrew fonts do not display correctly.

On the other hand, Unicode can be displayed correctly by recent versions of
every current operating system. There is a problem with the Mac only in that
Microsoft has chosen, allegedly for strategic reasons, not to support
Unicode properly in its application software for the Mac.
