What is sin?

| Ummm...I thought to the *Hebrew*, *Oriental* mind, sin is to "miss the
| mark."

A modern interpretation. "Sin" is, rather, offending the Deity by upsetting the good order
which he has established (God first, humanity second, creation third -- in a very, very
simplistic schema). This has consequences for the God-to-human relationship, the
human-to-human relationship, the human-to-creation relationship. There are also
repercussions for the altar which services the Deity, but since the altar is the portal
between the divine and the human, it points to the offending of God-to-human relations.
