TFDA Spring league has been moved back a week, both to give more time
for registration and to avoid a conflict with a TYUL event.
The season starts March 21st, tournament will be May 9th-10th.
Cost is $50, but $35 if you currently play for a local high school or
college team.
Registration is now open! http://www.tfda.org/main/index.php
One final change - there will be an experience point cap on pairs if you
sign up without a core. Your pair's point total cannot be greater than
8. This is to avoid having a few "power couples" available in the draft
which could greatly affect parity in this size of a league. If you're a
couple that exceeds that total and wants to play together, get some
friends and form a core!
Email me with any questions or if you intend to form a core.

TFDA Spring League is again going to use a core system of forming teams. Each team will be allowed to show up to the draft with a group of 8
players/friends/ringers/teammates already pre-determined. This core
needs to have 5 men and 3 women and there will be an experience point
cap based on Thuy's savage seven rating system that most of us are
familiar with. The details of this system are included below.
Don't stress over the details, the point of all this is to give everyone
a chance to play with a group of friends that they were able to choose! We're also again going to allow teams to submit art work to screen print on their jerseys.
Can't find a core? No problem! Sign up individually and there will still be a draft and everyone will end up on a team. Pairs can sign up for the draft, but they will be limited to an experience total of 8 points, as having 'power couples' available come draft time makes parity hard to achieve.
Registration is now open at http://www.tfda.org/main/index.php
Every player will still register separately, with those on the same core indicating a team name or captain when they register.
Games will be played at Efland-Cheeks field, located here:

We looked for a more central site, but there wasn't one available (and delayed this announcement several weeks in the process).

CORE/DRAFT EXPERIENCE GORY DETAILS
Each core can have up to a total of 32 experience points for its 5 men
and 3 women. The men's total cannot be higher than 24. If you've seen the coed savage point system, there are a few changes here to Thuy's version. It only goes back two fall seasons, not three. The age adjustment for women has been lowered, but the age deductions do not apply to 6 point men or women. Junior worlds/nationals and non US worlds/nationals count for something.
When we do the draft, the core with the lowest male point total will go
first. In the case of a tie, the core that is least top heavy will go
first, meaning a 6 5 3 3 1 core will draft before a 6 6 3 2 1 core. We
will then follow the same rules for women, based on each core’s female
point totals. (Hint: to earn a good draft position, cores may want to
consider not maxing out their experience points!) Also, as happened last year, we may switch to a non-gender specific draft, which means draft order will be determined by your entire core together.
Point values for individual players are determined by highest experience
during the last TWO years (2007-2008) and are as follows:
6 points
-Open or Women's Club Nationals
5 points
-Mixed or Masters Club Nationals
-College Nationals
-Open or Women's Club Regionals
-Worlds or Non-US Nationals
4 points
-Mixed or Masters Club Regionals
-College Regionals
-Open or Women's Club Sectionals (unless you played on an only college team, this exception applies only at the sectional level)
3 points
-Mixed Sectionals
-College Sectionals
-Junior Worlds or Nationals
2 points
-Tournaments
-Winter League/Summer League
-Corporate League
1 point
-pickup games
-never played before (everyone is worth at least a point).
Any player under 18 years of age, or any male having reached age 42, or
any woman having reached age 38 may subtract 1 from his/her initial
point assessment. Anyone having reached age 50 may subtract 2 points
from his/her initial point assessment. These age deductions do not apply
to players with open or women's club nationals experience in the past
two years. If your birthday is during the season (3/21-5/10), you may use
either the before or after age.
