Hey all,

I realize this is isn't ultimate as such, and we all have an Ultiplex
competing for our charity dollars, but encouraging disc sports in
general is a good thing, and I know a fair number of us enjoy the
occasional round of DG.

Subject: Anderson Park Disc Golf Course- Carrboro Parks Project
Fundraising Challenge!
To: undisclosed-recipients

The Carrboro Parks Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit with the mission to
improve the quality of life in Carrboro, NC through the protection and
improvement of parks and recreational facilities, including greenways
and green space, is pleased to announce the issuance of a challenge
grant to assist in the fundraising for a Disc Golf Course at Anderson
Park.

Zach Ward, on behalf of his business, DSI Comedy Theater, has issued a
challenge grant in the amount of $4200 towards the completion of the
fundraising necessary to begin installation of an 18-hole disc golf
course at Anderson Park. Mr. Ward challenges the community to donate
$4200 to the Carrboro Parks Project by October 1st, 2008 and he will
match the $4200 on behalf of DSI Comedy Theater. Any funds raised
over the $4200 challenge would be put towards the completion of the
course.

BACKGROUND ON CARRBORO PARKS PROJECT:
In late 1999, the Board of Aldermen held a public hearing to discuss
buying land on Hillsborough Road for a neighborhood park. The biggest
question was how to fund the purchase and development of this
property. The Board commissioned an Ad Hoc Citizens Committee for
Small Park Funding. This group discussed various ways to pay for the
property and the development of a non-profit "friends of the parks"
group. This led to the incorporation of the Carrboro Parks Project, a
501(c)(3) non-profit in September, 2001. Since that time, the
Carrboro Parks Project has successfully raised funds for the
installation of fencing at the Anderson Park Dog Park, the
installation of a shade sail at the Town Commons Play Area, and the
installation of tennis backboards at Anderson and Wilson Parks.
