Dear Triangle Area Community,

This summer will be an exciting one as the Triangle Youth Ultimate League (TYUL) will be conceived. The Triangle Youth Ultimate League’s mission is to provide the youth of the triangle area with an opportunity to be physically active by competing in and learning about the game of ultimate frisbee. Although the focus of the league is primarily the physical aspect of ultimate frisbee, it is essential to the league that fair play, sportsmanship and teamwork be highly regarded by all participants, coaches, observers, parents and staff.

A brief overview of the league:

   5/6th , 7/8th, 9-12th divisions - coed
   June 14th-Aug 16th (approximately)
Will be run as a TFDA league and will be on the TFDA website (soon)

6 teams per division, ~120-140 participants per division max
5-7 week season and one weekend with a one day tournament
   Games on Saturdays
   insurance, t-shirt, disc
   Coaches from the community
End of year BBQ at tournament field sites
Cardinal Gibbons Fields (4 fields), will rotate between 2-3 other sites (hopefully all free). Looking at Durham and Chapel Hill for two more field sites
   $30 - 40 per player.
Need website, marketing, and 2-3 other field sites
   Timeline

Communication through website (coming soon), blog, and Rec.Sport.Tyul

Will try to form teams two weeks before start of season to allow for practices
Teams will be formed using players from similar geographic areas
League email is tyuleague at gmail.com
You can check out tyul.blogspot.com for more updates. This was the first post made on the blog for TYUL. Updates have been posted and will continue to be posted.

An email to the TFDA listserv will be sent when registration has begun. Please direct all questions to tyuleague at gmail.com.

Thanks!
Lindsey Hack
