Short version: we need a volunteer or volunteers to step up and run the
Summer Hat League at Crabtree Lake. If you're interested, please contact
me via email.
Long version: With the early daylight savings this year and the weather
(maybe) turning warmer, it's time to start thinking Hat League. This year
we need a new Hat Master as I'm giving up the position after 3 years.
It's a pretty easy gig really. Like being a Winter League captain, it's as
easy or as hard as you want to make it. Of course you can do things
however you want, but here's what I do:
1. The day of the game call Crabtree to make sure the fields are open.
2. Send an email to TFDA announcing the status.
3. If you're playing, get to Crabtree by around 6 and set up fields.
4. Greet people.
5. Once you've got enough, get out the hat and have people pick their
teams.
6. If you've got 2 games, figure out how you want the scramble to work.
Since not many people want to (or can) commit to running a game every
Tuesday (or whatever) night for the entire summer, I'd suggest seeing if
we could get 3 or 4 volunteers to share the job, with each one taking a
month or so. But that's just a suggestion.
If you're interested, please email me and we can discuss the details.
Thanks,
Beej
