[TFDA] Competitive coed pickup - Saturdays at NC State

Beginning this Saturday, y'all will have the opportunity to participate in a
new pickup game series. This game is said to be "competitive" because it's
for players who are looking to take their game up a level and possibly get
ready for the upcoming club season. It doesn't mean that you need to have a
club season on your resume, nor that you intend to play this club this fall,
it basically means that this is not the place to try out that new
flick/hammer/push pass.

The idea is that each week at 10:00 AM, you'll bring a light, dark and $1
down to the State IM fields (http://www.tfda.org/Reference/NCSUIM.htm). The
$1 fee is non-negotiable and absolutely required* whether you plan to
participate in the series or just play pickup for the day. I will collect
the money and select two captains who will draft their team. Once the teams
are established, each player's name will recorded and the game will be
closed for the day. If you are running late and want to be included, you
can call me at 919.413.2106 and we'll see if we can wait for you. Don't
count on it...

Players on the winning team will receive 3 points each, and players on the
losing team will receive 1 point each*. Each week I will send out the point
standings, possibly accompanied by a little smack talk. At the end of the
season (probably the weekend before Summer League starts), the top 3
point-getters will receive a 55/30/15 split of the pot, respective to the
order of finish. And yes, it'll probably be expected that you buy the beer
at payout time.

The following dates are weekends that I cannot make, so I'm looking for a
surrogate. If you can do the job for the day, the game will go on,
otherwise we'll simply skip that week.

March 17
March 31
April 7

*The fine print:
=> "No dolla no holla", which means:
	 - No IOUs
	 - No coins
	 - No checks
=> If you switch teams, you remain on your original team's roster
=> If you leave before the end of the game and your team wins, you get 3
points
=> If you leave before the end of the game and your team loses, you get 0
points
=> Games are straight to 17 (no OT)
=> No timeouts (no turnover if called, though)
=> I'm sure I'll come up with more

Hope to see you there.
