Hello, Triangle-area ultimate players.
To bypass a lot of stuff that gets repeated elsewhere, go to the following website to learn more
about the Ultiplex and plans to build an Ultiplex community, plus answer some questions about
possibly living in such a community: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=72653171948
If you want to read more before heading to the survey, the following paragraphs and links to maps
and plans will give you some background, but all these details (and more) are at the survey
website.
With the encouragement of the Ultiplex Committee, a Limited Liability Corporation (LLC) has
purchased a 165-acre tract of land with the intention of selling 40 acres of it to TFDA for the
Ultiplex--up to 15 TFDA-owned ultimate fields for leagues, practices, tournaments, etc--and 125
acres to a residential developer. The LLC is currently working with potential developers to
understand development options for the 125-acre tract, and the sooner the 125-acre tract is sold,
the sooner TFDA can proceed with the permitting and construction of the remaining 40 acres set
aside for the Ultiplex.
A promising option for the 125-acre tract is a residential Ultiplex community. When the drive to
fund the Ultiplex began a couple of years ago, several TFDA players mentioned that a residential
community adjacent to, or integrated with, the Ultiplex would be an ideal living situation--and
housing developers agree. The LLC has identified developers willing to finance and build such a
community if there is enough interest and commitment from TFDA.
The property is located at 4915 Cheek Rd., in Durham, south and west of Falls Lake:
