[TFDA] NC HIGH SCHOOL ULTIMATE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

Coaches, Captains, Moderators, and Friends of High School Ultimate in North Carolina: 
 
The Triangle High School Ultimate Association (THSUA) is proud to announce that it will host the NC High School Ultimate Championship Tournament in Raleigh on Saturday and Sunday, April 28-29, 2007, at Cardinal Gibbons High School, 1401 Edwards Mill Road, Raleigh, NC 27607 (across the street from the RBC Center/Hurricanes Arena).  The NC Championship Tournament, a UPA-sanctioned event, will have a single open category and is open to any interested high school ultimate team in North Carolina. 
 
There are presently eight team slots still available.  TEAM BIDS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY APRIL 16, 2007.  To submit your team bid, please contact Mark Tawater, UPA State Youth Coordinator for North Carolina, at mtawater at cghsnc.org or upa_nc_syc at upa.org.  Please do so ASAP, because slots will fill up fast.  Also feel free to telephone Mark at 919-796-1651 if you have questions about the tournament.  Hotel accomodations at reduced rates will be offered at two hotels near the tournament site.       
 
THERE WILL BE NO TEAM REGISTRATION FEE FOR THE TOURNAMENT !!!   As a UPA-sanctioned event, however, all players must either be full members of the UPA (having paid their $20 youth membership fee) OR pay a one-time $5.00 event fee at the tournament.  Required forms, information about online rostering, hotel accomodation info, and directions to the site will be forwarded to participating teams on or about April 17.
 
The NC Championship Tournament will be catered, and there will be water, sports drinks, soft drinks, fruit, sandwiches, hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and the like available for purchase at reasonable prices throughout both days of the tournament.  Additionally, TOURNAMENT DISCS will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the sale of food and discs will be used to defray tournament costs.  A tournament trainer, rest rooms, and changing areas will be provided.
 
Finally, trophies will be awarded for First Place, Second Place, and SPIRIT !
