Sorry for the extra email - I forgot to mention two things:
1) There may be some scholarships available to help pay the UPA membership fee for those players that are not currently members. Contact me for me info.
2) The UPA extends the roster deadline from August 26 to the Wednesday prior to the Sectional tournament for college and high school teams that want to play as a team. You must meet certain requirements to get this extension - details can be found here: http://www2.upa.org/club/2006_club/series_guidelines#rce and are pasted below:
1. College deadline extension
1. College (or other school-based) teams who start their fall academic term on August 16th or later are eligible for a roster deadline exception.
2. By August 25th the team must use the online rostering system to submit a partial roster to UPA HQ. (Partial roster can include as few as one name (team spokesperson).) Fax 303-447-3483 or email info at upa.org. AND
3. By August 25th the team must fax or email to UPA HQ a copy of school material (calendar, page from class handbook, etc.) indicating the official start of the academic term and indicating that they qualify for the roster deadline exception. Indicate on the faxed materials or in the email that you have submitted a partial roster online, the name of your division, section, and your team. Fax 303-447-3483 or email info at upa.org. AND
4. By the late registration deadline, the full team must be registered through the online rostering system. If a full team is not registered by that deadline, the team will be dropped from the tournament.
5. If a college team meets the above criteria and follows the guidelines as laid out, they will be counted towards a section's on-time roster count and be exempted from the $50 late fee.

> There is strong momentum to form a TFDA women's team to compete in the fall UPA series (sectionals will be September 16th or 17th in Raleigh, NC). Right now, there is a core of 7 players that are in need of some subs. If you are interested in playing, all you would need to do to play would be to:
>
> 1) email me if you are interested in playing
> 2) become a UPA member and
> 2) commit by paying your membership fee by August 24.
>
> I am hoping the TFDA women's communitity will support the mid-atlantic region's bid to get 3 bids to the National Championship Tournament in Sarasota, FL in October. I believe 2 teams from the Triangle will qualify for Nationals this year.
>
> * Levels of membership for the 2006 calendar year:
> $20 - Youth -Includes members that will not reach their 19th birthday before June of the current calendar year and may not have graduated from H.S.
> $30 - College - Includes any person currently enrolled at least half-time in an accredited college or university. Six years max.
> $40 - includes all adults
>
> If you already have a team for the UPA fall series, disregard this post. If you know of someone that might consider playing, please forward to her!
>
> I look forward to hearing from you.
> Thanks!
