Dear freshmeat.net subscriber,

spitz just announced version 1.6.6 of LyX on freshmeat.net.

The changes are as follows:

This is the sixth maintenance release in the 1.6.x series. It features a long
list of fixes and improvements. A number of crashes have been fixed, and LyX
has been improved in many details. New features include support for the enchant
spellchecking backend and for aspell language varieties (such as old and new
German spelling in parallel).

Project description:

LyX is a document processor that encourages an approach to writing based on the
structure of your documents, not their appearance. It is intended for people
people who write and want their writing to look great without tinkering with
formatting details, font attributes, or page boundaries. On screen, it looks
like any word processor, but it uses the TeX engine for printed output and
producing richly cross-referenced PDFs. It is stable and fully featured.
