I just ran into this problem on x86 with 2.6.29 and the forcedeth
driver (built-in nVidia LAN). The network on this machine died
pretty quickly for me, within a few minutes. I've reverted to 2.6.28.8
for now and so far so good.

I have another x86 machine (iwlagn wireless) and an x86_64 machine
(iwl3945 wireless) which are not having any issues.
