Therefore, it shouldn't be reverted. Already we're evidencing that it
doesn't affect anyone (Yet, I'll concede) but you. There's two people
that don't have the problem, and one that does.

Simple majority would say that it shouldn't be reverted.

The argument that it's "not a gcc/glibc bug" is that it doesn't affect
the building of a system. Gcc/glibc are necessary to be working in a
fully functional manner so that you can continue to build your system.
They're part of our basesystem, and thus subject to more stringent
requirements. gtk+2 isn't.

There were also two patches within that thread you referenced, but you
only mentioned applying one of them.

That's randrproto-1.3.patch:
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.freedesktop.xorg/30661

And another:
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.freedesktop.xorg/30801

Which patch did you apply? And it appears that the patches would apply
to xrandr, not xorg-server...

So what patch did you apply? I only found those two.

All that aside, as a project we shouldn't have reverted the commit.
Especially without discussion. I have only reverted something once in
the past where the spell was actually broken upon commit, or it may have
been changing something to the "development version" of a software.
