Now I'm confused. Does (1) mean that the user doesn't get a choice about
having it installed? Originally I interpreted that (1) was (3) with a
default to yes. Perhaps I misinterpreted the use of "default" in (1)'s
description. If so, then I will opt for (3) instead, with the default to
yes, as Jeremy is suggesting.
