I was attempting to update my stable machine with the latest stable and
then stable-rc to do some testing and found a problem. I noticed many
spells are downgraded in the latest stable and stable-rc. The ones
that got my attention were gcc, g++, linux, gtk+2, but there are a
bunch of others. I looked at all the versioned tarballs for stable-rc
and they look good, but the unversioned one that downloads with a
scribe update is full of old versions.

I can only guess this happened on the last regen for some security
updates. Every one needs to update with stable-rc and stable with
caution until this is fixed.
