That's my impression, too.
I wrote a mail asking about future status and a collaboration between mpg123 and mpg321 to the email address noted on mpg321.sf.net almost exactly a year ago.
No reply so far.
But on the other hand, the code is not broken. Hm. I suppose so (gcc 4.3, anyone? ;-).
