I've got gnome 2.19 with the updated gtk+2 here just fine, but I have
seen the test updates go wonkers on my system in the past.

I've found that making a complete gnome system using gnome2-profile
enabling most (if not all) of the 'optional' dependencies tends to
help updates of gnome work better.
