I noticed that freetype2 2.3.5 got pushed into stable-rc.  We will
probably want to revert that since it will prevent xorg from building.
I am in the process of updating to stable-rc and then will do a rebuild
just to confirm that xorg is still failing that way, but there is no
reason to believe it will not.
