[SM-Discuss] glibc spell status and next ISO

The current ISO is installing the stable grimoire which contains a buggy
  glibc spell according to:

http://bugs.sourcemage.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7560, Reported 2004-10-22
http://bugs.sourcemage.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7831, Reported 2004-12-16

To solve this issue at least for building the ISO, an updated glibc
spell (available in bug 7560) has been used. This spell is also
installed by the ISO on the new system. So the end result is an
installed system with a glibc spell NEWER than the one in the installed
grimoire. This, according to Arwed, is not the proper way to do (See
http://lists.ibiblio.org/pipermail/sm-discuss/2005-January/009378.html).

Since a working spell is available in bugzilla and since there has been
some work on glibc recently, I'd like to know what is the status of this
work.

If it's working, I'd like to know when it will be available in stable.
If it's not working or if it will not be in stable before the next ISO
release, I'd like to know how the ISO team could provide a working ISO
(what spell should be used for building the ISO, on the ISO and
installed by the ISO and what grimoire should be installed by the ISO?)
