I use autofs, it's pretty easy to set up and to use, but the only problem
is that it unmounts things on a time delimited schedule. It doesn't unmount
a cd upon eject. There is a kernel configuration option that allows you to
automagically mount a CD. I don't recall exactly where it is in the
configuration right now, but I know it exists, because I think I turned it
on in the kernel.

Subject: [SM-Discuss] Automounters

Hey everyone!
I've been looking into setting up an automounter for my g/f (who's
non-technical) and was wondering who's using what in SMGL, and how that's
working out for you? In particular I'm interested in using an automounter
for removable media (USB flash drive, CDs, floppies, etc.) to avoid the
need to manually mount/unmount them.

When I brought it up in #sourcemage I discovered I wasn't the only one
who lacked information on the subject, so maybe this will help:

  Thanks for the info!
