Casey,

Don't be in such a hurry to count out pppoe... :)
It might be easy for a ethernet router, but for a USB xDSL modem - see my
howto (http://cosmos.oninetspeed.pt/jose.bernardo) on how I got pppoe to work
here in PT with the speedtouch 330, and see all the trouble I had to go thru
with mandrake's firewall... I will try this weekend to merge it with the
debian howto, and maybe then go ahead to try and replace my mandrake fw with
sourcemage... As soon as I get a nice html interface to the firewall
functions, as mnf has... :)
