I recently (last month?) did a cleanup of the linux spell to remove
fairly old patches, but left most of the latest releases. When the
linux spell is generating it's menus it sources *every* patch file, so
we're progressively getting slower all the time. :)
We may want to leave all patches for the current releases (e.g. stable,
pre-, and latest), but the rest we may prune to only include the latest
version for that branch.
