FasterCures <http://www.fastercures.org/> President Greg
Simon<http://www.fastercures.org/about/whoweare/fastercures/>has
published a follow-up to the organization's announcement in January of
the FasterCures Ten to Watch in
2008<http://fastercures.blogspot.com/2008/01/fastercures-ten-to-watch-in-2008.html>list,
on which we were
honored<http://sciencecommons.org/weblog/archives/2008/01/28/speeding-drug-discovery-through-the-semantic-web/>to
appear. The post provides updates on the developments, trends and
organizations FasterCures identified in the original list, including
"Science 2.0," highlighting innovators in the "use of online platforms for
scientific collaboration." Among them: CollabRx <http://collabrx.com/>, a
company that creates "virtual biotechs" to put drug discovery in patients'
hands<http://sciencecommons.org/weblog/archives/2008/07/29/wsj-putting-drug-development-in-patients-hands/>.
CollabRx is one of our partners in the Health
Commons<http://www.sciencecommons.org/projects/healthcommons/>,
a project to make it easier for anyone to pull together the resources for
accelerating drug discovery: research, data, materials and services.
