hey everyone- we've got some great stuff coming up at PS211, check out the calendar below to see what i'm talking about. got a bit of news, too-first off, ps211 has a new website that you should check out when you get a chance. we are quite pleased with it and think you will be too. see the link above.
also, the bar/coffeeshop that serves beverages at all of the ps211 events has begun opening up regular hours. it also has a name: Krankies. it is now open every week thu-sun 7pm to midnight.

Teen Wheat bring the drive like jehu inspired rock from atlanta.

Dr. Eugene Chadbourne
One of many statewide concerts celebrating the 50th birthday of North Carolina's patron saint of the avant-garde. Performers include Carrie Shull(oboe,english horn), Martin Klapper(toys,electronics), David Doyle(french horn & mandolin), Michael Thomas Jackson(clarinets,etc), Ian Davis(percussion) & Tom Shephard(electric bass). Selections from the "Insect & Western" catalog will be performed as well as a reunion of the CHADBOURNE BAPTIST CHURCH, the previous century's premiere psychedelic-country-protest-jazz- rock-improv combos...but don't be afraid to request "Freebird."

Finally the boys and girls of AA will have their debut cd, Navigation Songs, finished and ready to share with the world. The night will begin at 7pm with a visual art exhibition featuring works by: Daniel Vonseggen, Laura Lashley, Mike Shepherd, John and Tesa Blackburn, Kelly Peterson, Milicent Greason, John Rash, Richard Boyd, Nick Weir, and Chris Edwards. Also bring some food for a potluck to begin at 7pm also! @ 9:30pm the music will begin.

Codeseven is from Winston-Salem on label The Music Cartel; Undying is from NC, and are on OneDaySavior Records; Requiem is former members of Catharsis; The Silas is from Wilmington w/ former members of Hopesfall & The Driver; Door open at 7 PM. Four on The Floor Reading Series w/ Quinn Dalton featuring Dawn Chorus...
This new series will focus on creative, local authors. The first installment features Greensboro resident Quinn Dalton, whose new book 'High Strung' was recently published by Simon and Schuster. Publishers Weekley says "After 10 years in London copyediting porn novels, a weary 32-year-old American returns to her Ohio hometown in Dalton's breezy first novel" and Book List calls it "A quietly moving debut novel". The Frequency, Andy Hayleck & Dan Breen
The Frequency is basically the solo effort of Trans Am drummer Sebastian Thomson. The live band features members of Wooly Mammoth (aaron claxton)and Squatweiler (rob c, their DC drummer). The album, written entirely and recorded mostly by Sebastian will be released soon on Noreaster Failed Industries. They are gonna tear it up like nobody's biz, ya dig? Andy Hayleck & Dan Breen are from baltimore and came down to ps211 once before as the improv duo S.N.A.C.K.S. Now they have a new thing, more out there and exciting than ever.
