[permaculture] Where were you in 1971?

I was four going on five.  We moved from Johnston to Coventry (Town Farm Road) in Rhode Island.  Sometime in 1971, the woods immediately behind our house disappeared.  There was just a sand pit left and a dump truck parked to the side for what seemed like years.  My neighbors gave me lots of cookies when I wandered up there and I traveled around in the woods and sand pits in the area behind our house; or explored the edge of the pond next to us.  There was a house being built about a half mile down the dirt road behind us that I used to hang out watching.  I'm not sure where my parents were, or if they knew how far I went.

Not sure what is being referred to here, but interesting to me: I was 14 for
the first half of 1971. Experiencing my first recreational drugs, loosing
my virginity and solidifying a spiritual philosophy that has seen fruition
through paths like Permaculture.

1971 was truly a great year.

P.S.* I* wonder if those whose voices need hearing will get much from their
votes cast in November. Time will tell. But just in case I'm not holding
my breath (it's hard to get the chores done that way).
