We're having a very exciting seminar on the
Oklahoma Food Co-op a
volunteer marketing network of hundreds of local
farmers and their
customers. They have a website
(www.oklahomafood.coop (
http://www.oklahomafood.coop/ )) that makes it
convenient for people
who want authentic fresh foods, but are too busy
to go to the Farmer's
Market. It's quite remarkable! This business has
grown at a
phenomenal pace over the past few years and has
re-invigorated the local
food industry in Greater Oklahoma City. Please
join us at SVSU, as we
learn about how to successfully apply this model
to Mid Michigan.
There are two sessions on November 11, 2008.

The first is from 1030 AM to 12 Noon, at 1708
Johnson Street, Saginaw, in the Houghton-Jones
neighborhood. The second is from 7 to 9 PM in
Seminar Room D, on the 2nd floor of Curtiss Hall,
Saginaw Valley State University.

There is no charge, but pre-registration is
encouraged by calling Monique Owens of SVSU-Center
for Business & Economic Development at (989)
964-2164 or e-mail mowens at svsu.edu . Light
refreshments will be served.

NB: SVSU has created curriculum and instructional
material on vermiculture, hydroponics, and
aquaponics.
