[permaculture] Las gaviotas

Last year Paolo Solari, one of the founders of Gaviotas, asked that people
not travel to Gaviotas as it was too disruptive in the present political
climate.
I would certainly write them before arriving unannounced - we had this
discussion some months ago about uninvited guests and the stress it puts on
communities and projects that are not set up for visitors. In our case we
have two days a year of open house the rest of the time we discourage
visits.

It would be useful if you were more specific on the information you want.
Did you read the book?
I did, and that's all I know about it. The impression I got is that it
is not so much a community that makes its own decisions but a group
trying to implement technical ideas of some bright, well meaning
academics. I liked what I read but but I would guess that it has
definite limitations.
