Plastic lumber suffers from weak span capacity. It bends under weight much
more than wood. It also doesn't hold fasteners well.

Some folks are using soldered copper tube to make trellises for perennial
flowers. The weight of grapes and kiwi would argue for 1" or larger pipe.
Look at tables for span and strength and use silver solder, no lead. This
embodies energy and would not be inexpensive, but copper lasts.
