Aloha,

Sounds like a reasonable approach.
I support going with it and we'll see how it works out (design is a 
process... ;-).

Definitely agree that this is a better approach than the free-for-all 
wiki page editing model.

Authors shouldn't be able to rate/score their own stuff, for IMO obvious 
reasons.
Authors put their stuff out there; the registered user community 
determines how valuable/useful it is.
This is just how most all publishing and review/criticism already works...
