Where is Chad,
I have been following the pcplantdb list closely despite my limited
and infrequent 'net access. I'm sorry to report that I don't share
enough of the values or vision to participate in the current project.
However, I have not lost interest in this and have alloted one month
of time this winter to focus on an open source project. Currently
"the project formerly known as PCPDB" tops the list. Described:
I hope that if either project generates new features or data that is
desirable by the other project, that merging will not be encumbered by
licenses. Any development by me will meet the GNU/FSF definition of
"free software". I will host the project myself at galatea.org using
the *traditional* open source development model, use this list to post
release info, release via cvs anon co or .tgz, accept diff style
patches, and probably start soliciting content as collaborative
elements come online. I could use some expert/guru level sql
optimization help. Toby Champion?
Hmmm... so now it's me -vs- a dev team of 6 and [potentially] $100k.
See ya in a couple of months,
