[pbs] Hemerocallis Question

Hi Jim, Phil, & Ken, et al.,

I don't have any sense of smell anymore --probably due to 70+ years of 
allergies and 40 years working in chemistry labs -- but I can recall 20 
years ago when  I could still smell the flowers.

The most fragrant parts of the daylily seedling beds were those with the 
yellows or the light pinks or melons.  So even in the tetraploid hybrids, 
which are pretty pretty remote from their wild ancestors, the genes for 
fragrance still seemed to be linked to the genes for light flower colors.
