Fragrance is a special interest of mine, but I don't
think fragrance is given much consideration in hemerocallis
breeding. The AHS offered a special award for fragrance, the
Plouf award, from 1979 to about 2003? see

http://www.usna.usda.gov/PhotoGallery/DaylilyGallery/DaylilyPlouf.html

There is also information on the AHS site.
Another site, this one on hybridizing H. citrina is at

www.brianmahieu.com/citrina.html

I hope someone else can add more, breeding for fragrance
is not something that seems to arouse much interest in any of
the hemerocallis people I've managed to contact. Fragrance is
quickly and easily lost, at least in the few hybrids I've managed
to make.
