Dear Friends,
I am just back from a visit to SC and GA.
In SC I saw many stands of blooming Crinum asiaticum - at
least I think that is what it was - planted in the landscapes on
Sullivan's Island, just south of Charleston. Is this species sterile?
I saw no seed produced.
And in Atlanta GA I went to a fascinating nursery called
'Randy's' in Lawrenceville, just a few miles NE of downtown. They had
pots labelled Crinum oliganthum (I think), but I was not familiar
with this name. The plants were TINY (for a Crinum) . Leaves may
have been 5 or 6 inches long and a clump of plants fit nicely in a 4
inch size pot. No flowers present, but all other plants seemed
correctly labelled.
Any one have any Crinum info about these two species?
Appreciate your shared wisdom. Best Jim W.
