About 700 miles north of Mary Sue, there's very little in flower. Iris
unguicularis has recovered from our December cold snap, which got down to about
-12C (about +10F). Crocus laevigatus is going over. Eranthis hyemalis (the
usual acid yellow, a paler yellow, and a soft orange-tinged form) is in full
flower and will probably keep going to the end of the month. Cyclamen coum has
a few stray flowers here and there, but not a lot. And some early snowdrops are
doing their thing, with buds on clumps of later-flowering types.
I think I got all my tender plants into protected storage when the cold weather
arrived mid-December, so though not out to be enjoyed, they're still alive.
Like Mary Sue, we could use more rain here.
