Thanks to everyone who responded to my question.  It is very reassuring.  I 
have never lived in the south, and really have only vague ideas of winter 
temps. and rainfall in the southern states.  I do worry when I send bulbs to 
unknown lands about whether they will survive.

There's a nice pic of Pancratium canariense on the blog: 
www.thebulbmaven.typepad.com.  I got this bulb six years ago, and it has 
multiplied a bit and finally bloomed.  (Sorry, I don't have any available). 
My five to six year old P. maritimum (from seed) have not bloomed yet.  I 
know they are said to be slow from seed.
