Jim,

I planted 3 each of three selections of Fritillaria eduardii last fall in
full sun, good drainage - and they have been pathetic this spring.  I doubt
I'll see them again.  They were great bulbs; a couple didn't even show above
ground.  How they can do so badly so quickly?  I planted a few F. imperialis
here years ago and never saw them again.  They do really well with Norm Deno
in State College - in the central PA mountains.  Seems like cool and damp is
good, or at least cool.  I suspect our long hot fall screwed up the
eduardii.
