Thanks for that clarification, Adam.
In fact, what Im experimenting with is ground dolomitic limestone.
And Im not using it simply because I think the plants Im growing might
need it. Im experimenting to see if the presence of limestone will make a
difference in the soil pathogens. Will limestone discourage our local soil
pathogens fusarium in particular? Im trying to find out.
Eventually I want to try gypsum, too: it will provide calcium and sulfur and
not raise the pH, right?
By the way, all but one of the big frits which were given the limestone
treatment came out of the ground as fine, clean bulbs.
