Shirley,
Ornithogalum dubium has not changed name to Notholirion thomsonianum,
they're two totally things. The subject line was changed to reflect
that the new message was focusing on the part of the original message
that referred to the Notholirion (i.e the 'et al' bit of the
message), not that the name of the plant itself had changed.
So unfortunately you can't blame the "name change" on your bulb
disappearing. <grin>
I too am another of those that has the Noth. that never
flowers. Mine are in pots, prolific offsetter but never
flowerer. Been meaning to put it into the garden for a few years but
never remember to find the pot of leaves and plant it out. When
dormant I never remember where it is, and when not dormant the pot of
leaves gets lost amongst everything else. One day when it is meant
to go into the ground I'll come across it and plant it out. LOL One
day!! I saw it in flower somewhere a couple of years ago and it is
rather pretty, so I really should make that "one day" sometime sooner
rather than later.
Cheers.
