It sounds as if Mary Sue had a great time in Australia, and that the rest of
us have a lot of great stuff to look forward to on the wiki.
Mary Sue mentioned Oxalis Ken Aslett.
Im still on the beginners page with Oxalis, although I do grow Ken
Aslett in the ground of a protected cold frame. It was dormant all summer
but came back into growth about two weeks ago. It bloomed here last winter.
In the same frame I grow Oxalis purpurea Garnet. It too has started to
grow again, and I was surprised to see that the emerging foliage is all
green without a trace of the beet color which presumably gives this plant
its name. I imagine that the green is its hot weather color until
yesterday, daytime temperatures here were still topping 80º F daily and
that the foliage will darken as we cool off.
