If I'm the Jim M in question, I hope I didn't write that!

As it turns out, 'February Gold' usually doesn't bloom here until sometime
in March.

I did mention 'Rijnveld's Early Sensation' which more than lived up to its
name this year: several gardeners here in the greater Washington, D.C. area
reported bloom even before the end of the year.

The daffodils blooming here now are Narcissus frigidus, N. glacialis, N.
niveus (and the very similar N. nivalis) and probably Narcissus defunctus.
My favorite is the exquisite Narcissus chalazoides subsp. evanidus forma
pachnephorus - in the FCC form: it only blooms under the snow and its flower
deliquesces as it thaws, so it's very difficult to photograph.

If you like, you can blame the above on my being ice bound for several days.
