On the Monterey Peninsula, peak bloom is Oct. 15 on although sporadic blooms 
appear all year long.  Red and pink are most prolific and set thousands of 
seeds.  White is much less usual and sets very little seed.
    Shirley Meneice, mediterranean climate.  Dry May through Oct.  With 
luck, 18" from Nov. until April.
