Mary Sue Ittner recently asked, "What is the botanical name for Roman
Hyacinths or French Roman Hyacinths?

The botanical name for Roman Hyacinths seems to still be Hyacinthus
orientalis albulus. I posted an image of the blue form (certainly the most
common one still found as an heirloom bulb) on the wiki at

Hope it's not too garish looking.
