Dear Mary Sue:
As Bill has deduced, I would see no reason the unidentified species is
not Lycoris radiata. If it has set seed for him, that would clinch the
var. pumila. I did notice, however, that his image of L. longituba is
not as identified. Probably, L. ×albiflora, would be the proper ID. If
this plant is produding spring foliage, then maybe its a significant
hybrid. Don't think it fits my description of L. shaanxiensis.
