I am late posting this as it happened probably over a
month ago but, better late than never.
I had a peony bloom. Yes, a common P. 'Mons. Jules
Elie' bloomed in a 3 gallon container in Venice, CA. I
was so happy, I snatched it right off of there and
brought it home to give to my mother for Mother's Day.
She didn't quite realize the signifigance of such an
occurance but I did.
The same plant produced a bud last year but I was out
of town and for some reason it never grew. It dried up
at the size of a jacks ball. Maybe a little smaller.
I took a few photos. I will get them loaded onto the
wiki sometime after I get them downloaded from my
camera card.
I have 3 other peonies, one other herbaceous and 2
tree that did not do anything this year but, now that
I have done it, I will work harder on getting the
others to bloom for me.
