Although I have never personally tried this technique, it is listed in
an RHS book on propagation, as suitable for most monocots that have a
leaf with a good midrib, such as snowdrops, and presumably many other
bulbous plants. The description is the same as cutting up sansevaria
(spelling?) leaves, into short sections across the leaf. I think the
main risk is with bruising soft leaves and rot setting in.
I would be interested in any success with this technique.
