It's official now. A majority of our Executive Committee, having voted in favor of Southern Pines as the site of 2008 Summer Meeting, July 10-12, the time and place is officials. Specifically, our meeting will be held at the Sandhills Community College which has generously offered their excellent facilities for our general meeting, workshops and banquet. Please mark your calendars. The meeting will be jointly sponsored by the Moore and Richmond Chapters.

The Spring Meeting will be in Burlington, March 7, 8, sponsored by the Alamance Chapter.

Charles Heatherly, President
NCSBA

P.S. For those of you who missed attending the Ground Breaking ceremonies for our new Honeybee Exhibit at the North Carolina Zoo yesterday, it was a splendid event. Larry Wooten, President of the NC Farm Bureau presented the Zoo with a check for $25,000 which brings our fund raising total to $182,000. We have pledges for another $10,000 coming and expect our total efforts to generate at least $200,000 for the project. Zoo officials plan to begin construction on the project in mid-2008 and hope to have it up and going by early 2009. It will be a real asset for both the NC Zoo and North Carolina beekeepers. Congratulations and many thanks to all of you who have worked and contributed to make this happen.
