I do not know if these were botanically speaking white mulberries. They
were white by appearance. They grew 4 blocks away from where I lived
growing up in Louisville KY. They were nice plump berries but tasted
insipid. One year we collected them and dried them. The turned caramel
brown and developed a shiny sugar coating. Dried they were very pleasant.

Subject: [NAFEX] Dried White Mulberries
Today I went shopping at The Spanish Table in Berkeley. I've never been to
Spain so I'm not really familiar with the foodways there. One thing that
surprised me was that you could buy dried Turkish mulberries there. They
appear to be Morus alba because they are very light even when dried. I'm not
a big fan of Morus alba (I prefer Morus nigra) but drying concentrates the
flavor. They were pleasant and lightly sweet, and a bit chewy.
