I forgot that I had some chickasaw plums from some trees that I think
came from Oikos originally. They were bright red, juicy, and tart as
hell. So, better than the P. nigra I've tasted, and better than the
worst P. americana, but not nearly as good as the best P. americana.
Of course, all these species vary widely and have cultivars selected
in the past. I'd just try as much as you can, and keep what works in
